Grundlagen unserer Politik sind das Klimaabkommen von Paris sowie der Bericht des Weltklimarates zum 1,5-Grad-Limit. Dieser verdeutlicht, dass jedes Zehntelgrad zählt, um das Überschreiten von relevanten Kipppunkten im Klimasystem zu verhindern.
Es ist daher notwendig, auf den 1,5-Grad-Pfad zu kommen.
Dafür ist schnelles und substanzielles Handeln in den nächsten Jahren entscheidend.
Die Klimakrise ist die Existenzfrage unserer Zeit. Daher ist Klimaschutz keine Zukunftsaufgabe, sondern Klimaschutz ist jetzt. Wenn wir in den nächsten Jahren konsequent handeln, können wir die Krise noch stemmen. Ambitionierter Klimaschutz bringt riesige Chancen mit sich: er schafft neue sichere Arbeitsplätze und klimagerechten Wohlstand, macht unsere Städte und ländlichen Räume lebenswerter und ist die Voraussetzung dafür, die Freiheit kommender Generationen zu erhalten. Diese Chance gilt es jetzt zu ergreifen.
